Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on the 7th of September, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a theater actor writer and director and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actress and acting coach. She has two brothers: Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV, who has also performed. Evan as well as her brothers appeared at Theatre In The Park, Raleigh which is where her father is the director. When she was five, she was screened against Kirsten Dunst for the leading part in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process.
