Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on the 7th of September, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a theater actor writer and director and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actress and acting coach. She has two brothers: Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV, who has also performed. Evan as well as her brothers appeared at Theatre In The Park, Raleigh which is where her father is the director. When she was five, she was screened against Kirsten Dunst for the leading part in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process. With her parents and brother Ira the family moved to Los Angeles in 1996. Since then, she has enjoyed success in television series and movies on television, as well as feature films. She's appeared in Practical Magic (1998) as well as in the comedic S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter. She the film followed with Thirteen (2003) in which she starred alongside Holly Hunter. Her character of Tracy in "Thirteen," which she was a part of, earned her a nomination from the Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress: Drama, as well as a nomination from Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor In the Leading Role. Her remarkable performance as Stephanie Rourke's estranged child in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008) earned her acclaim. She is the daughter of Ira David Wood III and Sara Wood. The younger sister of Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. Trained in dance. She loves to dance and sing, as well as rollblade and ride horses. She is the black belt from tae kwon do. She's kept in touch with throughout her Once and Again (1999) Castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
