Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was the daughter of British parents Jacqueline Luesby, a lawyer, and Chris Watson, a teacher in Paris, France. When she was five years young, she moved to Oxfordshire where she went to Dragon School. When she was six, Emma knew that she would like to become an actress and for a long period of years, she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part-time theatre school in which she was taught singing, dancing and acting. At the age of 10 Emma was already performing engaged in Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. The casting process began for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (192001) The film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s bestselling novel. Emma was found by her Oxford theater teacher, who introduced casting agents to Emma. After eight auditions consistently, producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, that they had been selected to play the three leads: Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance on screen in cinema was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001). It was the highest-grossing movie of 2001and broke records for opening-day sales and opening weekend runs. The performances of the film and of its three young actors were highly praised by critics. The Daily Telegraph, a British newspaper widely distributed, called Emma's performance "admirable." Emma received the Young Artist Award as Leading Young Actress in an Film Film as well as being nominated to win five more awards. Following the debut film of the highly popular franchise, Emma became one of the most famous actresses in the world. In the ten years that followed, she was the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Emma has been nominated twice for Critics Choice Awards by the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
