Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30, 1977. American electro house music producer D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his name. Music executive. He's the third child of Chizuru Kobayashi & Rocky Aoki. His father, who was a former wrestler, also co-founded the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two siblings: sister Kana (who is sometimes called by her middle name Grace) and brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi restaurant). His half-sister is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School, where he was a member of the club that played varsity badminton. He went to UC Santa Barbara and graduated with a 2nd B.A. He earned two degrees: one in sociology and one in feminist studies. He also made records for DIY and also hosted underground music events from his Biko room in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative while in college. The Pickle Patch became a concert venue when the apartment was renamed The Pickle Patch. He also was involved in student activities at UCSB and was the founding member of an Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League chapter on campus. In the early 20s, Dim Mak was establishing his own record label, which he named Dim Mak in honor of his childhood hero Bruce Lee. In March 2010 the artist released I'm in the House, a collaboration w/ the Zuper Blahq, the alter-ego of The Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. It hit No. 29 in the U.K. Singles Chart in its 1st week of release. The song later made it onto the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, being among the top 5 on both charts. The song was featured in the MTV series Jersey Shore. It also was featured in Piranha, the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a HitQuarters interview, in May 2010, with Lucas Secon revealed that Rivers Cuomo and the singer had recently worked on a single. The song was named the highest-grossing North American dancer by Pollstar in 2012. He has worked with artists like Afrojack and Linkin Park, Afrojack. Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon. Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS. Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vii & Fall Out Boy. He is known for his remixes of artists such as Kid Cudi
