Dolly Rebecca Parton

Dolly Rebecca Parton was created on January 19 1946 in Pittman Center (Tennessee). She was born to Avie Lee Parton and Robert Lee Parton in Sevierville. Parton was a housewife and Parton is a farmer of tobacco. At the age of 12 she was already appearing on Knoxville TV. At 13 she was already recording for a small label and performing on the Grand Ole Opry. After graduating from high school in 1964, she relocated to Nashville to begin her country singing career. Carl Dean, a asphalt-paving company owner was her first lover. They were married on May 30 the 30th of May, 1966. In 1967 her singing caught the attention of Porter Wagoner, who hired her to perform on his show, The Porter Wagoner Show (1961). She was on the show for seven years. Their duets gained fame, and she appeared with his band on the Grand Ole Opry; she also performed on tour and sold records. The hit song "Joshua" was a chart-topper. #1 in 1970 was her biggest single. She chose to go solo, even though she still recorded duets with him. In 1974, she walked away from the duo to become a solo artist. Dolly became a hugely admired musician and singer. Dolly was honored with numerous Country Music Association awards (1968-1971 1971, 1975-1976, 1975-1976). This diminutive (5'0") beauty was an ideal candidate for TV In the mid-1970s, she began appearing regularly in TV specials and talk shows prior to launching her own, Dolly (1976). In 1977, Dolly got her first Grammy award: Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her hit song "Here You Come Again." Dolly's first film appearance was in 9 to 5 (1980) in which she got an Oscar nomination for her composition of the title tune, and also Grammy Awards 2 and 3: Best Country Song, and Best Female Country Vocal Performance for the song "Nine to Five." Dolly gained more attention for being in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982), and in Rhinestone (1984) with the song "Tennessee Homesick Blues". She is the CEO of Dolly Parton Enterprises, a $100 million media empire, and in 1986, she established Dollywood A theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which is a tribute to her Smoky-Mountain roots. In the 1987 TV series Dolly she was the lead herself. In the episode "Trio", she won the Best Country Performance Duo or Group with Vocals Grammy in 1988.
