Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is well-known for his hard-edged characters and wisecracking characters in action films. Bruce Willis has been featured in over $2.5 billion in films. Walter Bruce Willis was born March 19, 1955 in the city of Idar-Oberstein (West Germany) to Marlene Kassel and David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point New Jersey), both of whom resided on a United States military base. The family relocated to America shortly following his birth. He was raised in Penns Grove (New Jersey) where his mother worked as an employee at a bank, while his father was an electrician as well as a worker in the factory. Willis developed an interest in drama during high school, and was "discovered" when he was working at a café in New York City and then participated in a couple of off-Broadway productions. In one bar, he was seen by an acting director who liked his style and wanted bartenders for a minor film role. Willis was involved in numerous auditions, before landing the role in the romantic comedy of the same name, Moonlighting (1985), as David Addison. His humorous and wisecracking P.I. His humorous and wisecracking P.I. is frequently seen as a trial run for his character John McClane, the hardboiled NYC detective in Die Hard (1988), that saw Willis combat a gang of brutal international thieves at the top of a Los Angeles skyscraper. He reprised the role of McClane in the follow-up film, Die Hard 2 (1990) that was set at wintery Washington's Dulles International Airport as a group of renegade Special Forces soldiers seek to bring back a corrupt South American general. A sequel, Die Hart with the vengeance (1995), was a smash success. It starred Samuel L. Jackson as an unrepentant Harlem shop owner who is required to join forces with McClane in a attack during a hot New York day.
